Christina Harris Schwinn, Partner, Completes Chamber of Southwest Florida’s Leadership Lee County Program

Pavese Law Firm partner Christina Harris Schwinn has graduated from the Chamber of Southwest Florida’s Leadership Lee County program. Schwinn and 15 other community leaders from the 24thclass of Leadership Lee County were recognized during a graduation ceremony held on Friday, Feb. 25 at the St. Charles Yacht Club in Fort Myers.

“This unique opportunity has given me a new appreciation for the forward-thinking leaders that have helped to grow Lee County,” says Schwinn. “For example, a class visit to one of the region’s waste-to-energy facilities highlights Lee County’s leadership in solving the mounting problem of landfill space. Lee County is clearly ahead of the game in terms of creating renewable energy. In addition, attracting new businesses such as Algenol and VR Laboratories and approving the new Red Sox baseball stadium will help to further diversify Lee County’s economy.”

The 16-week intensive program includes a proactive series of retreats, seminars and site visits designed to expose current and emerging leaders to Southwest Florida’s greatest challenges and opportunities. Leadership Lee County addresses topics including our community history, community trusteeship, servant leadership, economic bases, healthcare, transportation, education, growth management, social challenges, law enforcement and criminal justice, agriculture, local government, media, the developer’s perspective, the arts, cultural diversity and the role of volunteerism within our community. Programs are held at various locations throughout Lee County, providing participants an opportunity to view some of our community’s unique facilities and assets.

Participants in Leadership Lee County are chosen by a selection committee based on their qualifications. Class participants represent the public and private sector, as well as adequate geographic representation from throughout Lee County and the Southwest Florida region.
