Hussey Gets Things Done

Gulfshore Business Magazine
September 2009

Hussey gets things done, whether that means facilitating an adoption or helping establish a program to help care for those with Alzheimer’s or autism. A certified family mediator, she works to solve legal problems hampering families. “I enjoy helping people resolve their issues,” says the Fort Myers resident, “helping people come to their own resolutions and giving them ownership of how they’ll carry on, as opposed to a judge deciding how their lives must be resolved according to the law and facts."

Active with organizations including the Pilot Club of Fort Myers and Lee County Sheriff's Youth Activities League, Hussey uses her skills to assist others. "I'm not a teacher, I'm not a nurse, but I have certain talents as a lawyer and as a mom and as a member of my church congregation," she says. "So I do these things to do good, to do right."

Off the Clock

Hussey might be found on the golf course or in the pool with her husband, Durward, and 9-year-old son, Alex. "I like to just spend time with my family," she says.
